My name is Amir Khan, and I am from middle-class family. I am a Karachi based independent Filmmaker, Editor, and philanthropist. I direct the shoot, run the interview and bring the concept through to post production. My broad experience in the creative, technical and social aspects makes me a unique talent. I can write, create storyboards, design titles and graphics and just about any creative role you can name.
I produce independent broadcast short and feature length social issue documentaries, dedicated to inspiring social change through film. My projects communicate issues about social justice, public education, grassroots advocacy, urban issues, feudal lords, homelessness, child abuse, modern day’s slavery, bonded labors, child labor, health care, women rights, culture, youth, civic pride and engagement, poverty and discrimination, the environment, media literacy and reform, substance abuse, suicide and violence in the Pakistan. I dedicated the past several years to raising concern about bonded & forced labor in Pakistan. I currently planning to produce an average budget 120 minutes Documentary, about bonded & Forced Labor in Pakistan "Gholami". My Upcoming project is “Gholami” the true story about bonded and forced labor in Pakistan. I came to this film not as a filmmaker, but as a social activist who had become fascinated with bonded & forced labor issues in the Pakistan year ago. For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others. |
